The DES-1100 Series Fast Ethernet Smart Managed Switch series has a configurable set of functions that provide high performance and scalability. The DES-1100 series including DES-1100-16 has 16 ports 10/100 Mbps, and DES-1100-24 with 24 ports 10/100 Mbps. With an easy-to-use management interface that can be accessed through a PC utility or web browser, the DES-1100 Series helps customers to quickly and easily use their network. The DES-1100 series provides complete and affordable solutions for small and medium businesses, and for organizations without IT staff. DES-1100 is suitable for Enterprise use, such as in branch offices and meeting rooms that require simple management.
Switch management can be done via the web management interface or through the SmartConsole utility. The DES-1100 series also supports Layer 2 features such as port mirroring, statistics, and IGMP snooping to optimize the performance of multicast applications. All DES-1100 models are fanless and have metal casings.

The DES-1100 series offers the best power savings in its class compared to other models. DES-1100-16 saves 27.32% more energy, and DES-1100-24 saves 10.7% more energy compared to conventional unmanaged D-Link switches.
